Introduction

Depth of commitment to one’s work and personal credo is not clearly measurable. If it were, I truly believe the figurative “well” of Greg Erf’s work would extend almost to China! He does the research, he does the footwork, he does the “thoughtwork.” In pursuit of his passion, no effort is too great. Perfection barely eludes his creative grasp. At least that’s what I think! In these times, rife with the shallow craving for that which is slick and tricky, that which would
superficially seduce a careless observer with instant gratification, I offer witness to one who takes his time, one who digs deeply in a sincere effort to unearth some significant aspects of truth and beauty (lingering and often overlooked) in our beleaguered world.
